Congratulations to John Harris, the BUHABS president and up to Saturday morning our pilot under training. John successfully flew our balloon with an examiner and two 'willing' passengers from the Maize Maze field outside Bath and made a lovely landing just west of Combe Hay some 50 minutes later.

The examiner was impressed with John's skill and paid testimony to his training and BUHABS' professional support structure!!!

John completed his solo flight in Devon on Sunday morning in a smaller balloon and is now a fully qualified pilot. He is the 18th pilot to have been trained by BUHABS. The hunt is now on for the next trainee pilot to follow in his footsteps. Make sure you come along to as many of the socials as you can and talk to the committee about the level of commitment required. Pilot selection will begin soon. All members will be notified via email.
