BUHABS made the most of the sunshine on Saturday 23rd April with a flight from Bath to a field near Chelwood (South of Bristol). Lots of other balloons took to the skies with us and we enjoyed 1 hour and 15 minutes in the air.

Imraan, SinYen and Dave Shatford flew with me and Will was on the retrieve, meeting us as we landed. Hope everyone had fun and we should get some photos on the website soon.

Thank you to everyone who came bowling at the Lanes the other week - hope
you all had fun! It was lovely to meet you all! :)

We're thinking it would be nice to get a few people together for a meal out
- it'll be a really good opportunity to get to know other members and let
us know what events you want to do next!

There's a really nice Indian restaurant on Cotham Hill called "Indian
Ocean" and they do really good curries for about £5 - PLUS they have a
student deal which is very good value! I plan to book a table for the 15th
March (Tuesday) at around 7pm. It's very central, very cheap and really

HOLIDAY!

If you're interested in our biennial visit to Metz in north-east France for
Europe's largest balloon festival, then get it touch! It runs 22nd-31st July
inclusive.  We'll be holding a briefing at the meal to answer any questions
you have and taking deposits soon. It was absolutely great fun last time,
with some guaranteed warm, sunny weather. Flights are all included in the
price - so you fly as many times as you can! Total costs work out to be only
£25-£30 per day, over 10 days, so it's great value as well!

2011 is our 25th anniversary year and a unique time to be part of the
organizing committee! Our AGM will be held after the Easter break. If you're

Your Ballooning Committee

This morning BUHABS had a nice fright from the Maize Maze field near Bath.

The flight started very slowly, with the balloon not really moving out of the field for the first 15 minutes! We then went up to about 1000' and headed out towards the Mendips. Flying was Lucy, Matthew, Atikah and James and the ground crew consisted of driver Bobby, ace navigator Nathanael and photographer James!

After about 1hr 20mins of flying and the spotting of many many trampolines, we gently landed in a field next to Camely, just East of Chew Valley Lake.

The morning was rounded off with a fantastic brunch at the Buttery on the Bristol Quayside.

Hopefully everyone enjoyed the flight and sign up again soon!
